A/P Rosa is the President of the International Association for Dental Research/Dental Material Group

With a stellar reputation and significant contributions to the field, Assoc Prof Rosa's appointment is set to bring forth a new era of advancements and innovations in dental materials research and development.

In a significant stride for the world of dental materials, NUS Faculty of Dentistry Vice Dean (Research) Associate Professor Vinicius Rosa has been appointed President of the IADR Dental Materials Group. The appointment, which starts in June 2023, marks the beginning of a new chapter to further shape the future of dental research and innovation. Assoc Prof Rosa’s remarkable expertise and unwavering dedication to advance the field of dental materials have been widely recognised, making his presidency an eagerly anticipated one.

Assoc Prof Rosa is a highly accomplished researcher and academic in the field of dental materials. He has been a member of IADR since 2005 when he joined a meeting in Baltimore, United States as an undergraduate student. In 2005, he received the Dental Materials Student Award presented by the Academy of Dental Materials to outstanding student researchers in the field of Dental Materials. He also received the 2007 George C. Paffenbarger Student Research Award from the Academy of Dental Materials to recognise the best paper in the field of Dental Materials annually. He was awarded the IADR Distinguished Scientist Young Investigator Award and the IADR-DMG Stephen Bayne Mid-career Award in 2021 and serves as a member of editorial boards for Dental Materials, Journal of Dental Research, Journal of Endodontics and Associate Editor for the Journal of Prosthodontics.


“It is my pleasure to work alongside the IADR community to impact clinical dentistry and improve oral and system well-being. During my tenure, I hope to work with IADR members to further networking opportunities with experts and emerging researchers in the field. Through such connections, I aspire to accelerate advancements in dental materials and facilitate translation of scientific discoveries to potentially generate breakthroughs in patient treatment and enhance overall health,” shared Assoc Prof Rosa.
