Channel News Asia interviews A/P Rosa about the NUCOHS Tooth Tissue Bank

In an exclusive interview on Asia First, Associate Professor Vinicius Rosa from the NUS Faculty of Dentistry shared insights into Singapore’s first Tooth Tissue Bank. Reporters Andrea Heng and Hairianto Diman explored the bank’s impact on dental research, highlighting how this pioneering facility is aiding advancements in areas like stem cell therapy to regenerate nerves and blood vessels in teeth.



Launched in 2021 at the National University Centre for Oral Health, Singapore (NUCOHS) in collaboration with the National University Health System (NUHS), the Tooth Tissue Bank provides researchers with access to extracted teeth donated by patients, significantly boosting the efficiency and scope of dental studies.


The interview shed light on the bank's growing role in Singapore's dental research landscape. Associate Professor Rosa emphasized that the Tooth Tissue Bank has been instrumental in supporting cutting-edge research at the NUS Faculty of Dentistry and NUCOHS. With continued support from NUHS, the facility is poised to further accelerate advancements in oral health and improve patient outcomes, making it a vital resource for future scientific breakthroughs.
